A Bear, Not a Wild Man
We included this account of a bear sighting because bears are a rare sight in Monmouth County. (There was a bear sighted by multiple people in about 2012 in multiple towns along the Jersey Shore, including Oceanport and Middletown. More recently (the past year or so), there were rumors of a bear in Hartshorne Woods, in Middletown, NJ.)
Note the article mentions the disappearance of pigs in the area, which is a consistent bigfoot behavior.
