Deer Hunter Encounter
Monmouth County, NJ – 1995
A New Jersey resident describes an encounter and brief sighting with a creature while sitting in a tree stand before sunrise.
The exact location was not provided but based on witness account of drive times to the hunting area, the encounter location was either in the Allaire State Park and Manasquan River Wildlife Management area, or a little further north, possibly west of Freehold, NJ.
Despite the considerable development in Monmouth County, pockets of farmland and parks exist. Moreover, sightings or encounters of Bigfoot type creatures have been reported, especially near Allaire State Park.
Allaire State Park is on the northern edge of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, which has had many Bigfoot sighting reports over the years.
Naval Weapons Station Earle (red) is also close to Allaire (blue). Earle is where the US Navy stores conventional, and long assumed, nuclear weapons. As such, the sizable tract of mostly woods and swamps sees little to no human activity, perhaps making it ideal for a Sasquatch to hide out in.
